Hello everyone!
Today I went to Sandy Beach and Makapu'u Beach. Both are great beaches, but with rather big waves! At Sandy Beach, we had to stay out far, so the monsterous waves wouldn't break on us. While we were there, we saw a 5-foot long fish, but it didn't hurt us. At Makapu'u, we ate a pinic lunch and explored the rocky tide pools. They were actually pretty deep! We saw a few minnows and some funky seaweed-not much wildlife there.

Hi everyone!
Today I toured Pearl Harbor. I visited the USS Bowfin and the USS Arizona Memorial. They were both amazing! It was fun to see where the crew members slept, ate, and showered on the Bowfin. I did the audio tour, which helped me get a lot more out of the experience.
To get to the USS Arizona Memorial, you take a small motorboat across Pearl Harbor. This memorial is interesting because the Arizona sunk, and was not recovered. This modern white building straddles the shipwreck, which is now and artificial reef! Buoys mark the bow (front) and stern (back) of the sunken ship.
Both of these tours are great for familes and adults alone. Everyone will have a great time!

Just another day.....
Hello, friends! Today was just another day at my school, Kailua Elementary. The temperature is currently 75 degrees, mostly cloudy and patches of blue Hawaiian sky. I'm thinking of going for a swim later, though I have swim practice at a local pool later. Well, I have some homework (Ugh!) to finish; better get going!

Hawaiian Adventures
Aloha, everyone! It's me, Grace, blogging from Kailua, Hawaii! I am originally from North Carolina, though. How did I get here, you ask? Well, let's just say my Dad went on a 6 month business trip, and decided to bring the rest of the family. So, as I said, I'm here for 6 months, and I'm going to try to stretch these few months as far as they'll reach! It will be easy, because our rental home is right on the beautiful Kailua Beach! I am going to school here (You seriously thought I'd miss school for 6 months? In my dreams!) at Kailua Elementary. Alright, enough with the life stories! Now for the REAL blogging.....
Yesterday, the fam and I toured the lush, green Dole Plantation! There, the plant and harvest pineapple (As the main fruit) and many other tropical fruits. They have scrumptious pineapple frozen yogurt that is to die for! Along with that, they have a wonderful gift shop with pineapple everything! I'm talking pineapple plush key chains to chocolate covered pineapple (Yum)! After we were all pineappled out, we headed down to Turtle Beach. We weren't expecting much, but we saw something very, very rare: a Hawaiian Monk Seal on the beach at the same time as a basking Green Sea Turtle! It was amazing. I guess that we picked the right time to go!
